Fillings and Crowns
Michael M. Okano DDS provides dental restorations including fillings and crowns. These procedures are performed in a gentle manner to keep you as comfortable as possible. Dental crowns are used as caps that are placed atop a tooth to restore its strength, shape, size and beauty. If you have a decayed or cracked tooth or one that lacks the structure necessary to support a filling, you can benefit from a crown. Crowns are also used to cover dental implants, secure bridges, cover stained fillings and provide tooth protection after a root is filled.
We also provide dental fillings after cavities are drilled. The decayed portion of the tooth is removed and filled with composite filling material. Our fillings prevent additional decay through the sealing of the areas where bacteria would otherwise move inward. As long as your tooth has not endured significant damage, there is a good chance that a composite filling can be added after the tooth is drilled and cleaned. The majority of your tooth’s structure will remain in place yet your smile will look uniform as composite fillings really do look like natural teeth.
